Pakistani film industry died with the death of Sultan Rahi. The films never managed to get the audience back and our films also did not progress in scripts or camera quality. Plus the situation in the country became supremely volatile with the war on terror. Our film industry started coming back into its own with the release of Khuda Ke Liye and Bol. Waar however, became the first film to get massive success on box office. Then Covid came and the slow run of the industry was once again halted. Things are now back on track with good performance of London Nahi Jaunga and Quaid e Azam Zindabad. And with he Legend of Maula Jatt breaking records not only nationally but also internationally more films are joining the party.
Zarrar and Tich Button are two new films to release this weekend. Both the films were ready for quite some time now but Covid disrupted the release. Shaan Shahid has made a comeback with Zarrar. His last film was Arth which did not do well on the business side. Zarrar has managed to collect Rupees 7.5 crore both domestic and international included.
Farhan Saeed, Iman Aly and Soya Hussyn starrer Tich Button has also released after many controversies and it has managed to rake in decent numbers. The film has grossed over 5 crore PKR both domestic and international included.
Both the films have managed to rake in decent numbers despite the political unrest in the country as well as massive wave of The Legend of Maula Jatt.
The films have managed to get a decent start. Let’s see if the films manage to keep a hold on week days which will eventually determine their fate!
