According to Gazzetta Dello Sport, Roma boss Jose Mourinho is interested to sign Daniel Podence who is currently on the books of Wolverhampton Wanderers.
It has been reported that the Portuguese manager tried to secure the services of the 25-year-old while he was at Tottenham Hotspur.
He has endured a very difficult campaign with the Wanderers, with the talented winger managing to score only three goals in 24 Premier League appearances.
The Portugal international also remained sidelined for several matches this season due to his muscle injuries and groin surgery.
However, Mourinho seems an admirer of the player’s abilities and wants to bring him to Rome this summer.
Podence joined Wolves in January 2020 in a deal worth £16.9 million from the Greek side Olympiacos. And since his arrival at the Molineux Stadium, he has clocked up 38 appearances across all competitions for the Premier League outfit, scoring four goals and creating four assists in the process (stats from Transfermarkt).
The 25-year-old is hugely talented who can run with the ball, smash goals as well as create them for his teammates. However, he hasn’t proved his skills at the Wanderers who splashed a huge sum on him but haven’t yet received the expected performances from him.
